There is a revolution fast shaping youth culture! The audacious revolution is comprised of a generation of young people who are bold, fearless, cheeky, daring, dangerous, unrestrained by convention, spirited and original." Take these words from Glyn Barrett, leader of Audacious, add keys, drums, crank up the overdriven guitars, shake vigorously and stand back as 'Revoulution' explodes from your speakers with more "Wake Up!" than 20 cans of Red Bull.
Wesley pioneered a worship revolution because he saw a need to create a vehicle, a style, an accessible way for people to connect to God in music. With the same musical brief for today's youth culture, this Revolution's message is loud and clear. "It's our turn now, to make you famous, it's our turn now, to make you known," proclaims track 11. These tunes are full on and fully loaded with "crunching" guitar riffs and a demanding cry to worship.
Check out the honest lyrics of "Live Fixed": "You came and rescued me/Took my heart and made me whole/You let me see I can live for you," or track three's relentless call of "One life to make you famous/ I'm spending all of me 'cause I'm relentless/I'm never gonna stop." There's a decidedly "live" sound in places from this studio recording and personally, I think a full on crowd "giving it some" would make this outstanding rock worship album even better.I love an atmosphere! It's not all high octane though, "You Alone Are God" brings a timely shift in tempo and you've never heard "Be Thou My Vision" arranged like this before. Superb!
If Hillsongs United and Planet Shakers are in your top 10 then make some space for Audacious 'cos if this debut album is anything to go by, the sound from Audacious is only going to get louder.
